Cause and Effect
Somewhere in Ukraine,

Here, a peacock butterfly
basks on a gravestone,
tasting the scent of buddleia
with antennae designed
for the purpose. Ten white dots
on feathered wingtips quiver.
Then the butterfly stamps.
