Construction
Frank places the blue block saying “Blue!”
picks up a “pink” one that is green
and with a double yellow continues
to build a structure like those we’d seen
in a village designed by Gaudi
on our first foreign trip
long before thoughts of marriage crowded
and before we found another use for my hips,
bearing the child whose construction amazes us
as he places a blue block, saying “Blue”.
