Following The Supreme Court ruling yesterday
Got an email from my MP today
It’s not what I wanted to hear her say,
I’ll be voting to trigger Article 50 in parliament
in line with the wishes of our town’s residents.
Hang on a minute, let’s check the statistics,
I go on google to look at percentages:
so on the Judas kiss
of just short of two fifths –
with Labour respecting the outcome of the referendum
as we get ready to lose the safety of European union
and the PM is looking for new trading partners
as she jumps into bed with the bad US president –
the world as I know it
spins off its axis.
Footnote: in Marilyn’s town, of those eligible to vote in the referendum, 29% didn’t vote, 31.1% voted remain, 39.9% voted leave.
